Holiday Gathering

On Tuesday night we had the high school gang over for munchies and drinks. Jen, Chris, Nikki, Tyler, Anne, Kyle, Chrissi, and even Arfman were able to come over. I'll have more pictures after Nikki sends me the ones from her camera.

More Christmas!

After we celebrated our own Christmas on Saturday night/Sunday morning we went down to Ellettsville for the Fletcher Christmas. We went to the midnight service on Christmas Eve and then opened presents Christmas morning!

When we got back from church we walked in to find a ball of yarn (I've taken up knitting again) rolled out all around the living room floor. Apparently one of their cats decided to have a little fun.

More Christmas pictures

We tried to have a family picture taken for our first Christmas together, but Cali and Pickles weren't really willing to cooperate.

Speaking of the kitties, there were a few gifts this year that were their favorites. The catnip, the treats, and the laser light thing that they chased everywhere. Even when Jason shut it off they both stared at the wall waiting for it to come back.

It's Christmas!!

Christmas started for us on Thursday evening at the Felts house. We went to dinner, watched some movies, and woke up Friday morning to open presents! Then we went back to our house to get ready for our dinner that night.

Our main Christmas present to each other was a brand new stainless steel gas grill. We decided to break it in Friday night for our dinner, so Jason had to spend about 3 hours putting it together.

For dinner we started with drinks and munchies, then it was on to a hot bacon dressing salad, steak, creamy mashed potato bake, glazed carrots, garlic green beans, and rolls. Dessert was a red velvet cake.

The Best Hot Chocolate Mix Ever

For our neighbors and coworkers we made the best hot chocolate mix ever to give them. It seemed to be a big hit.

Our first Christmas tree

We got our first Christmas tree this weekend. We went up to Stony Creek Farm in Noblesville to ride the hayride and then cut down our own tree. Unfortunately we were about a weekend too late and all of the good trees were gone. We ended up buying a precut tree at a local nursery.

That night we decorated it - and in our opinion it's the perfect tree! (The kitties think so too - they like to drink out of the water in the stand.)

Getting ready for Christmas

We took advantage of the last warm weekend and got our house decorated!

First Thanksgiving

We went to Kentucky to spend Thanksgiving with the Felts family. Some deep fried turkey, tons of food, a little drinkin', and a few rounds of Taboo - doesn't get much better than that!

Aren't they cute?

Pickles has decided that she likes the plant basket - I think she imagines that she's outside. Cali still prefers boxes though!

Deck Part 1

We started our deck today! Roland, Jason, and Matt used the hole digger to dig 14 holes, and cemented the posts in. (Susan and I helped out as well - we made sandwiches, cookies, and offered the occasionally suggestion, whether it was asked for or not.) The deck will be 24' wide, and 20' out from the house. It will hopefully be finished later this month, and then we'll have a party to break it in!

Wedding Coordinators

Jason and I were wedding coordinators on Saturday. We went down to Bedford to help out a girl that I met on theknot.com (a wedding planning website.) It was my 3rd wedding to do the day of coordinating, but the first one that Jason helped with - he was a pro though! We were there from 8am until about 8pm - we set up the outdoor ceremony site as well as the reception site (this included all of the chairs/tables at both locations.) We had a great day together and were proud of how everything turned out. Here is a picture of there ceremony site and a pew bow that I made (I was quite proud!)

Wow - I'm a "blogger!"

In case you haven't heard yet - Jason and I are homeowners! We bought our house and moved in around the end of July and love it! It's a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, with a loft and another extra storage room upstairs.

One of our first projects was to start working on the yard - the grass is much greener now, thanks to lots of watering and some fertilizer. Now we just need to work on the landscaping.

We have tons of projects lined up for the house. We want to paint pretty much the entire inside, add carpet to the dining room, put in a kitchen island, build a deck, landscape, etc. It's going to keep us busy (and broke - haha!)

We just finished painting the master bathroom, and for our first time I think we did a good job! (We have my mom to thank for most of it though!)

Here are the before and after pictures!

We also just bought a new coffee table for our living room! The green square in the middle of it is just a little plate - my attempt at decorating. :)

Last bit of news, for those that haven't heard yet - Jason got a promotion at work! We're so excited - he's now the F&I (Finance & Insurance) Manager and he loves it.

Time for Project Runway!
