Luke's song

I don't think that I've mentioned it before, but Luke and I have a song. For a long time it's really seemed that he likes music - specifically Michael Buble music. (Which is fitting since his mommy and daddy love it as well - our first dance at our wedding was to his version of "For Once in My Life.") There has been one particular song that he likes to jam to - Just Haven't Met You Yet. I think it's the loud horns in it.

It just happens that the lyrics are so very fitting and really seem to describe a lot of our journey to get to this point. We listen to it almost every morning on the way to work. I'm not going to lie and say that he moves every time, but I like to think of it as our song. (And not to make it seem like it's just a Luke/mommy thing - Jason also listens to it and refers to it as "Luke's song.") :)

And now for the lyrics. The verse that I bolded is the one that makes me tear up almost every time. We just can't wait to finally meet our little boy!

I'm Not Surprised
Not Everything Lasts
I've Broken My Heart So Many Times,
I Stop Keeping Track.
Talk Myself In
I Talk Myself Out
I Get All Worked Up
And Then I Let Myself Down.

I Tried So Very Hard Not To Loose It
I Came Up With A Million Excuses
I Thought I Thought Of Every Possibility

And I Know Someday That It'll All Turn Out
You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid That I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet

Mmmmm ....

I Might Have To Wait
I'll Never Give Up
I Guess It's Half Timing
And The Other Half's Luck
Wherever You Are
Whenever It's Right
You Come Out Of Nowhere And Into My Life

And I Know That We Can Be So Amazing
And Baby Your Love Is Gonna Change Me
And Now I Can See Every Possibility

Mmmmm ......

And Somehow I Know That It Will All Turn Out
And You'll Make Me Work So We Can Work To Work It Out
And I Promise You Kid I'll Give So Much More Than I Get
I Just Haven't Met You Yet
