A busy week!

This has been a big week for Luke. Tuesday was his first day at "school" and I think he loved it. I, on the other hand, dreaded it. I actually started crying the minute we walked in the door. Miss Barb, Miss Sheila, and Miss Katherine are all wonderful though! They called several times the first two days to give me updates. He had lots of play time, took good naps, and was the smiley baby that we love!

All ready to go to school, with his "lunchbox" that's as big as he is!

He must play really hard at daycare, because starting that first night - he has been sleeping 8-9 hours at a time! He had been giving us at least a 5-6 hour stretch before then, but now I actually consider it sleeping through the night. I thought it was a fluke at first, but he's done it 5 nights in a row now - go Luke!

In other big news, his hands are becoming such a fun thing! I mentioned last week that he had found them (although really, it's just his right) and he looks at it all the time now. In the morning after I unswaddle him, the first thing he does is bring that hand up to look at it, grin, and then look at me. He is SO proud of it!

On Friday morning he was laying on his playmat and for the first time he hit the toy that was hanging down. I thought it was a fluke at first, but he does it quite a bit now - to those toys, the toys above his swing, above his carseat, hanging in the crib, etc. Twice he's even grabbed hold of one and held it for a little bit. Sometimes he's just flailing his hand around and will accidentally hit it - but then he notices it and concentrates so hard so he can do it again.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I have Friday's off from work now to have more Luke time. This Friday we went garage sale shopping in the morning, hung out with grandma, and then we went on a playdate to Cool Creek Park in Carmel. The other toy boys were older, but I think he still had fun!

I'm pretty sure he's thinking "One day I'll get to do that too!"

Laura, I can't get over how cute he is! Seriously! I hope day care gets better (for you!) this week!
